Yes, it is true - I'm starting from scratch here on YouTube, and have made a new channel. But there is a reason for this... In this video, I'll talk about why I created a new channel - Andrew Saraceni Plus - and what you can expect I'll be covering on that channel, vs. what I usually cover here. For those that are curious, you can continue to expect all camera, photo, video and tech related content to remain on this channel, and continue at the same pace that has occurred for the past number of years. That said, because my fiancé and I are in the process of building and buying a new home, I wanted to make a new space on YouTube to cover that process, while utilizing my existing camera gear and kowledge to capture everything around that process that I could. And additionally, I wanted to create an additional space here on the platform to hare content such as that, along with other thoughts, musings, etc. without impact to my usual audience, the algorithm, etc. her eon the main channel. When it comes to 50mm lenses for the Sony E-mount system, there are a lot of options to choose from.  But is Brightin Star's 50mm f/0.95 full frame lens truly something special, and a lens that stands out from the rest of the pack? In this lens review, I'll offer my take on the Brightin Star 50mm f0.95 lens for Sony, and answer the question as to whether this is a lens you should consider for your camera kit.  I'll cover all of the specifications and features of the lens, making note of its many tactile controls, while also evaluating areas like sharpness, barrel distortion and more. I'll also cover the real-world shooting experience with this lens, providing several examples using this lens with my Sony a7R V for both videography and photography from a recent trip to Fort Mott State Park along the Delaware River in Pennsville, New Jersey. Last, I'll discuss areas such as focus breathing and bokeh, cover the price, and offer my final thoughts on the lens. All in all, I truly don't think there's anything else like the Brightin Star 50mm f/0.95 lens on the market, period. The mix of the lens' shallow depth of field, many fine-grained controls and its full frame capabilities provide an unbeatable combination at its price point. This all explains why it's become my go-to manual focus lens for Sony moving forward, and why for manual focus lenses in the Sony system, it's truly the lens to beat.
